In the painterly series "the essence of a penguin", Patricia Leon Torres depicts romanticized scenes. The penguin is central to this. We know that Antarctic penguins, especially emperor penguins, live and breed under the harshest conditions. Their loyalty, endurance, courage and human nature make them an inspiration. But what do we really have in common with them? And do penguins perhaps also have a deep longing for romantic places?
